RULES: This
regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing
Rules of Sailing except as modified in the Sailing Instructions.
Sailing Instructions and list of courses will be distributed at the
Skipper’s Meetings and will also be available at: http://www.portsmouthboatclub.org
on or after April 1.
ENTRIES
AND FEES:
Entries
are open to all monohull sailboats at least 20 ft. in
length. Eligible boats may enter by completing a
CBYRA entry form. The entry form is available from PBC or at http://www.cbyra.org/Forms/CBYRA2006Entry.pdf.
The racing fee is $20 for all 3 series for USSA members ($25
non-members) or $10 per single series for USSA members ($12.50
non-members). The entry fee must accompany the entry form. Mail

submit at a scheduled Skipper’s Meeting. A boat will not be scored
if the entry form and fee are not submitted prior to the race. Only
one entry form is required per boat for the entire season. Make
checks payable to “Portsmouth Boat Club”.
CLASSES: A
minimum of 4 boats is required to create a class. Skippers should
annotate whether they want to race in spinnaker, non-spinnaker
(racing), or non-spinnaker (cruising) class on their entry form.
Non-spinnaker (racing) will be allowed double headsails however
cruising class will be limited to single headsail only. New classes
will not be formed after the Skipper’s Meeting for that series.
RATINGS: All participants
are encouraged to join PHRF of the Chesapeake. The Race Committee will
assign courtesy ratings to yachts that do not have a current valid
PHRF certificate. These courtesy ratings will not include the PHRF
fixed prop or roller furling credit, and shall not be subject to
challenge. Certificate ratings will be verified via the 2008 PHRF
Valid List.
SKIPPER’S
MEETINGS:
Skipper’s
Meetings will be held on the rear deck of the Portsmouth Boat Club
clubhouse. Our clubhouse address is 20 Elm
Avenue, located near the Portsmouth
Naval Hospital. Volunteer sign up
sheets will be available for skippers, families, and crew who wish
to help with the Race Committee and/or the post race socials.
