The Norfolk Naval Sailing Center and the Broad Bay Sailing Association are pleased to announce the first ever combined 2008 Spring Dinghy Series:

Where: Held on Willoughby Bay, Norfolk midway between the 13^th View boat ramp and the Norfolk Naval Sailing Center.

When: First Race sequence @ 1400, last start NLT 1600. Dates: Apr. 6, 13, 20, 27; May 4, 11, 18

Rules: Rules will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing for 2005-2008, this Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions to be provided on day of race.

Entries: Open Enrollment. Boat must be no longer than 20 feet & not less than 9 feet (centerboard only).

Registration: NNSC members sign in at Navy Sailing Center, BBSA sailors call in to get on list (NNSC: 444-2918), confirm on water with RC.

Entry Fee: Free, simply be a member in good standing at your home club.

Classes: Laser, 420, Sunfish, H170, all others welcome! Trapeze sailors please call ahead so we can accommodate you! Working on having an Opti course too!

Ratings: Per US SAILING’s Portsmouth Yardstick, 2006.

Races: Single fleet though RC may split into two fleets with separate starts, 1^st Fleet to be Lasers and similar ratings together. 2^nd Fleet to be 420’s and similar together, numbers permitting.

Courses: College style short course format emphasizing number of races rather than length of course. Expect Triangles, Windward-Leeward’s & Gold Cups. Goal is 5 races per day.

Skipper’s Mtg: On water updates from RC.

Social: TBD, suggestions welcomed! BBQ/Potluck @ NNSC possible, but need 13^th View sailor’s names prior for base security.

Notes: Those sailors bringing their own boats can launch from either the NNSC (if you have base access) or 13^th View boat ramp. Laser, 420 & H170 rental available at NNSC to service members, DOD employees and dependents. All local sailors welcome!! Let’s make this the best short course sailing in Hampton Roads!!!!!!
